En cliquant ici vous pourrez lire une interview de Mc Dogshit, le chanteur du groupe, que j'ai faite en février 2000 Et ci-dessous (plus intéressant car à jour) une interview que Oeb Madskull, batteur du groupe, a réalisé cette année pour le zine hollandais PURE AND SIMPLE __________________________________________________________ P.A.S : So Brezhnev is back together?. have you still the same line up? Oeb : yeah, after we decided to split up and quit the band due to personal problems between some members i told our bassplayer that i was continueing with MC Dogshit (vocals) and Jevin (guitar) with the brezhnev songs BUT UNDER ANOTHER NAME! so it seemed brezhnev really died....we told our friends in the UK and were all pissed of that the mighty `nev was gone forgood! so we all talked about doing another tour in the UK...the promotors over there wouldn`t book us under any other name than BREZHNEV...we found a yougster to play some mayhem bass for us, his name is brother D. he did really well in the UK! so England is the reason we`re still playing. in november we`re heading for france, spain and back to england and then do a final show here in amsterdam. __________________________________________________________ P.A.S : Final show ? : yes, final show! we`re gonna quit for real this time... __________________________________________________________ P.A.S : After the band decided to play again you had a show immediatly in england! How did you manage that? Oeb : Well, as i said, those crazy islanders are pretty fond of us and we have a good promotor over there, this guy arranges a tour in 2 weeks if nescasery ! __________________________________________________________ P.A.S : I was visiting your site recently and got the feeling you`re screwed, what`s happening? you wanna talk about that? Oeb : Can`t tell you right now, but it has to do with some fucking tie & suit guys that wanna make a buck or two....as far as i`m concerned there will be another musical revolution....let`s get the money to the people that deserve it and not the managments, labels, distributors etc....fuck them, it`s the band that makes the music and mostly they get none. my total appreciation goes out to Cronos of VENOM, who warned me for those vultures! talk about a good band (a well know band that plays dynamo for over a 100.000 people) they still have the good spirit and are being assfucked by those moneymakers as i am... __________________________________________________________ P.A.S : MadSkull will continue to excist hopefully, tell the people where they can find you Oeb

Oeb : ....that`s pretty easy right now! since brezhnev is no more.....no, i`m gonna play drums for the rest of my life and at this moment i`m replacing a drummer from another well known amsterdam band (let you know soon) and as i said from the remains of Brezhnev there will be another band and i still play drums in the SATANS SLUTS as well, so for this moment i`ve got three bands.....i started Madskull Records with the idea that i wanna be active in the punkrock scene, i`m 35 now and there will be a point that i can`t play that fast anymore, so i will still have Madskull Records then and play some blues or reggae in the rehearsal room....hahahahaha __________________________________________________________ P.A.S

the amsterdam scene right now ? Oeb : The punkscene is definatly dead ! people that are always talking about supporting the scene never shows up at shows so bands will play for no audience...the last Madskull anniversary in amsterdam only 75 people showed up, i think that`s pretty lame. at least now i know who my friends are and who aren`t ! there are a few bands that make Madskull worthwhile: BLOODY SODS, RIOTGUN, DANDARE, THE SHINING and on the madskull show, THE FELCHERS....you may not like any of the bands and their music but these people are dedicated to their music ! PUNK IS DEAD ! KEEP IT REAL ! __________________________________________________________ P.A.S : New musicians with Brezhnev.... that means new influences... do you think there will be some metal influences ? Oeb : Definatly ! the remains of Brezhnev will continue what Brezhnev always was...NO MUSICAL LIMITATIONS! Brother D. is more into TOOL, FOO FIGHTER and QOTSA....Jevin is as usual the rock and roll mayhem motherfucker on the guitar and i practicly like everything that i like.....FIGURE IT OUT! __________________________________________________________ P.A.S : Is Madskull gonna release some leather pants metal ? coz you also did the Venom tribute ! Oeb : The future path of Madskull Records is not layed down yet...... anything funny might happen.....but it definatly will be the noisy part of music (punk/hardcore/metal/rock`n`roll etc...) when it`s good...IT`S GOOD !
P.A.S : You released the last cd with D-Fens Records (label of the singer of Bloody Sods) are they gonna put out some thing else ? Oeb : Whatcha mean ? for them ? i dunno.....for us ? i dunno either.....hopefully with the new band we can bring somethig out on D-Fens Records

Oeb : Not much, like to thank you man, for this interview and for being what you are, lately i meet a lot of big mouthed assholes....and i`m pretty tired of that ! it`s not only the music that can make a scene great but also the people ! just be what you are coz that`s all you can be....no more, no less!
